# ShopeePay connects with Alipay+ to assist users in smooth cross-border payments | Lianhe Zaobao

The payment and financial services platform ShopeePay has connected with Alipay+, the payment ecosystem under Ant Group, allowing its users to access Alipay+'s global ecosystem, which includes 150 million offline merchants across more than 100 markets, facilitating smoother cross-border payments.

ShopeePay announced on Thursday (March 5) that through this collaboration, platform users can access Alipay+'s ecosystem, which includes various national payment systems, such as Duitnow in Malaysia and ZeroPay in South Korea. "From now on, users will be able to make smooth payments at offline merchants participating in the Alipay+ system while continuing to enjoy transparent exchange rates and cashback rewards."

The announcement stated that the first phase of this collaboration will target users in Singapore. "As ShopeePay's first cross-border payment service, Singapore users will gradually be able to scan QR codes from over 100 markets and more than 150 million merchants globally, making instant payments through ShopeePay without the need for physical cash or currency exchange."

The announcement also mentioned that in Singapore, the trend of using electronic wallets for offline payments is steadily rising, with digital wallet transactions expected to account for 44% of total transaction volume by 2030.
