# The Director of the National Development and Reform Commission: During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, a number of major energy projects with investments exceeding one trillion yuan will be implemented

At the press conference on the economic theme of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People's Congress, Zheng Zhanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, a number of strategic projects will be implemented with long-term planning in mind. For example, advancing major energy projects with investments exceeding one trillion yuan, such as hydropower in the lower reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, the "Shagehuang" new energy base, and offshore wind power bases. It will also promote a series of major transportation projects, including the new shipping channel of the Three Gorges, and basically complete the main channels of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway and the national expressway network
