(Image credit: Fang Cheng Bao) BYD's (HKG: 1211) personalized sub-brand, Fang Cheng Bao, has unveiled the flash-charging editions of the Tai 3 and Tai 7 SUV (sport utility vehicles), which are among the first models to feature the second-generation blade battery and flash-charging technology. The two models were unveiled at a technology launch event on Thursday, with more details to be announced at a dedicated launch event on March 13. The new flash-charging system boasts a charging power of up to 1,500 kW, capable of charging the battery from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. Charging to 97% takes about a total of 9 minutes. Join us on Telegram or Google News The Tai 3 flash-charging edition is a compact pure electric SUV with a maximum electric range of up to 620 kilometers. It measures 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm, continuing the brand's relatively rugged design style. The Tai 3 flash-charging edition is equipped with a dual-motor system. The maximum power of the front and rear motors is 135 kW and 240 kW, respectively, supporting a top speed of 210 km/h. The vehicle is also equipped with an intelligent torque control system and an all-terrain recognition system to enhance stability and off-road capabilities under complex road conditions. The Tai 7 EV flash-charging edition is a larger mid-size SUV, measuring 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,865 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The two-wheel-drive version achieves a maximum pure electric range of 755 kilometers, making it the longest-range pure electric model in the series to date. The model is available in single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions. The RWD version has a maximum power of 300 kW, while the AWD version reaches a system power of 515 kW, with a top speed of up to 240 km/h. The Tai 7 EV retains a boxy design and introduces an electric frunk along with larger cargo space. The interior features a multi-screen interactive system and a Devialet audio system, further reinforcing its positioning as a high-end SUV. The Tai 3 was launched on April 17, 2025, as the inaugural model of the Tai series. The Tai 7 was launched on September 9, 2025. In addition to the Tai series, Fang Cheng Bao's current lineup on sale also includes the Bao 5 and Bao 8 hybrid off-road SUVs from the Bao series.
