The margin rose to about $233 per metric ton over Brent crude from about $177 in the previous session. The backwardation between second-half April and second-half May cargoes widened to $72 per ton. The gasoline crack eased slightly to around $21 per barrel over Brent crude on Monday. ### NEWS - Oil prices surged over $119 a barrel, hitting levels not seen since mid-2022, on Monday as some major producers cut supplies and fears of prolonged shipping disruptions gripped the market due to the expanding U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.
