Since the beginning of this year, the domestic gold jewelry market has seen a series of price increases, initially led by CHOW SANG SANG, followed by brands such as CHJ, BaoLan, LinChao, JunPei, and LaoPu Gold, all of which have successively joined the price hike, with increases generally exceeding 10%. The significant price increases from these brands have not deterred consumers; instead, they have triggered a synchronized rush to buy both online and offline. Gold jewelry has become the hottest commodity this year, with scenes of long queues, instant sellouts, and price markups playing out in high-end malls in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, as well as in the major online flagship stores of the brands. Even in the face of gold ornaments that have increased in price by tens of thousands overnight, consumers are still flocking to purchase. Among them, the products under JunPei Jewelry underwent an overall price adjustment on March 9. For example, a 50-gram bamboo bracelet from this brand was priced at 97,530 yuan on March 8, but by March 9, the price was directly raised to 143,080 yuan, an increase of over 46%. For smaller gold ornaments, the increase in price per gram is even more pronounced. Taking an 8-gram bamboo necklace as an example, the price was 15,100 yuan on March 8, while after the adjustment on March 9, the price rose to 23,780 yuan, an increase of 57.5%, which translates to nearly 3,000 yuan per gram.
