# Elon Musk launches the joint project Macrohard between Tesla and xAI, aiming to disrupt the software industry

Elon Musk announced a joint project between Tesla and his artificial intelligence startup xAI, named 'Macrohard' or 'Digital Pillar'. He stated that the system is capable of simulating the functions of various software companies. Musk posted on his social media platform X that the project will combine xAI's Grok large language model as a high-level "navigator" with the AI entity developed by Tesla, which can handle real-time computer screen images as well as keyboard and mouse operations. Previously, Anthropic's Claude Cowork had already been able to autonomously complete a series of computer-based tasks, raising concerns among software industry investors who fear that intelligent AI could disrupt existing mature business models.
