Compared to ground-based systems, space supercomputing centers have unique advantages in solar energy acquisition, global deployment, inter-satellite collaboration, near-source processing of remote sensing data, and integrated real-time services between air and space, effectively alleviating the constraints of ground infrastructure in terms of energy consumption, site selection, power supply, and latency. Recently, Yanhe Technology and Zhongke Tiansuan officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, announcing the establishment of a joint laboratory for space computing power and energy, focusing on the deep integration of aerospace intelligent computing and advanced photovoltaic energy, and comprehensively promoting the "Tiansuan Plan" to assist in the leapfrog development of China's space computing power and space energy industry. The two parties will jointly promote core technology breakthroughs, prototype development, on-orbit verification, and system integration around the new generation of space energy and computing power systems, collaboratively conducting scenario design, industrial chain integration, and standard system construction, while accelerating the development of the new generation of space supercomputing ground simulation systems and the "Tiansuan No. 1" space supercomputing node, integrating large-area flexible solar wings to build a globally leading space computing power network, with plans to start launching in 2027. It is understood that Zhongke Tiansuan is an industry-leading provider of space-based intelligent application system solutions, dedicated to creating "space-based computing infrastructure and space computing power service support points," breaking through core technologies of "supercomputing in space" and "AI for space," and establishing an ecosystem of intelligent computing software and hardware systems and application services. Zhongke Tiansuan plans to build a 10,000-card-level space supercomputing center by 2030, breaking through the limitations of ground computing centers in terms of energy consumption, cooling, and space. The system consists of more than 10 satellites deployed in a dawn-dusk sun-synchronous orbit, equipped with three core modules: an energy module using a 1 square kilometer solar cell array with a total installed power of over 100 megawatts; a computing module composed of a highly integrated computing board array, equipped with over 10,000 domestic high-performance computing cards, designed for a total computing power of 10EOPS (10 quintillion operations per second), supporting on-orbit upgrades and fault redundancy replacement; and a communication module configured with over 100 high-power laser communicators, with a total communication capacity of 10Tbps (terabits per second), enabling bidirectional communication between satellites and ground, inter-satellite forwarding, and distributed data broadcasting. Yanhe Technology focuses on the research and industrialization of perovskite solar cells, committed to providing efficient, reliable, and lightweight energy solutions for extreme space environments, with product on-orbit service officially starting in April this year. The company stated that the strategic cooperation with Zhongke Tiansuan marks a key step in the integration of advanced energy technology and space computing power scenarios. Currently, the two parties have successfully completed the integration verification of the space supercomputing prototype and energy subsystem. This prototype is based on a domestic multi-core high-performance CPU system, integrating heterogeneous computing resources such as GPU, NPU, and FPGA, with AI computing power at the 10POPS level. It adopts a multi-layer fault-tolerant reinforcement design for the complex space environment, ensuring reliable operation of on-orbit missions. It supports resource cloudification, allowing flexible deployment of various on-orbit applications and services, laying the foundation for subsequent engineering verification and scenario expansion The energy side is equipped with the Yan and the new generation "Nebula" high-efficiency flexible film solar wings, with a photoelectric conversion efficiency exceeding 20%, a mass-to-power ratio of about 500W/kg, an on-orbit lifespan of over 8 years, and using the latest radiation-resistant UTG materials, which can be densely rolled up for storage and reliably deployed in orbit, significantly reducing launch costs and providing continuous and efficient energy support for commercial spaceflight. At the same time, it is equipped with a space-grade energy storage power supply system, using high-safety, long-life battery cells and a space-grade BMS thermal management solution, featuring ultra-high energy density, wide temperature adaptability, and vacuum resistance, with high charge and discharge efficiency and long on-orbit cycle life, ensuring stable and reliable power for satellites during eclipse periods and under high-load conditions. ## Related News & Research - [The final frontier is becoming big business.
