# South Korean instant noodle manufacturers announce price cuts

South Korean instant noodle manufacturers announced on Thursday that they will lower the prices of instant noodle products next month in response to government measures to stabilize the continuously rising consumer prices.

The four major ramen companies in South Korea—NONGSHIM, Samyang Foods, Ottogi, and Paldo—stated that this move aims to help consumers alleviate living costs.

NONGSHIM announced that starting from April 1, it will reduce the prices of 12 instant noodle products and 4 snack items by an average of 7%.

Samyang Foods, known for its spicy chicken noodles, plans to reduce the prices of two instant noodle products and one cup noodle by 14.6%, but the spicy chicken noodles are not included in this price reduction plan.

Ottogi plans to reduce the prices of eight instant noodle products by 6.3%. Paldo plans to reduce the prices of 19 products by 4.8%.

Meanwhile, several companies, including CJ Cheiljedang Corp., Sajo Daelim Co., Otogi, and Lotte Wellfood Co., have also announced that they will lower the prices of cooking oil for the same reason
