# Meta and Luxottica face lawsuits again over AI smart glasses video sharing issues

Meta Platforms Inc. and the French eyewear manufacturer Luxottica of America Inc. (Essilor) are facing a proposed class action lawsuit. The complaint alleges that the two companies secretly disclosed videos captured by users wearing AI smart glasses to third-party contractors, violating federal and state wiretap laws. The plaintiffs claim that Meta promised users control over the videos generated by the glasses, but in reality, these videos were sent to contractors for review without the users' knowledge or consent. The two companies used these videos to train AI systems, with the lawsuit alleging unjust enrichment and violations of multiple laws, including the Wiretap Act and the California Invasion of Privacy Act
