Previously, using Google Maps to find specific locations often required entering multiple keywords. Now, with the new "Ask Maps" feature, users can simply click a button to ask complex questions in natural language. In addition, Google has introduced "immersive navigation," which uses the Gemini model to analyze street view and aerial images, transforming flat maps into 3D perspectives. Google stated that when using the conversational search function "Ask Maps," the system will instantly analyze over 300 million locations and 500 million user reviews worldwide to provide tailored answers and mark options on the map. For example, users can ask questions like "My phone is about to die, where can I find a charging socket without waiting in line for coffee?" or "Are there any public tennis courts with lights on tonight where I can play?" ## System Personalization Recommendations Automatically Match Suitable Restaurants Additionally, Ask Maps will provide personalized recommendations based on users' past searches and saved records. For instance, if a user is meeting friends after work and requests to find "a stylish restaurant for 4 people at 7 PM," the system will automatically filter suitable restaurants that offer vegetarian options if it knows the user prefers vegetarian food. After selecting a location, users can directly make reservations or navigate through the map. Currently, the Ask Maps feature has been launched first on Android and iOS devices in the United States and India. In addition to the enhanced search functionality, Google has also introduced "immersive navigation," where the new interface accurately reflects surrounding buildings, overpasses, and terrain, displaying driving lanes, crosswalks, traffic lights, and parking signs at critical moments to assist drivers in changing lanes or turning. ## Multiple Features to Reduce Driving Stress Moreover, the system has added several practical features to alleviate driving stress, including automatic map zooming and making buildings transparent, allowing drivers to see complex turns or lane requirements ahead of time; clearly outlining the pros and cons when providing alternative routes, such as longer routes with less traffic or faster routes that require tolls, and providing real-time updates on traffic accidents and other emergencies; and before arriving at the destination, the system will display building entrances, nearby parking lots, and which side of the street to stop on. Immersive navigation is currently being gradually rolled out in the United States and will expand to compatible iOS and Android devices, CarPlay, Android Auto, and cars with built-in Google systems in the coming months ### Related Stocks - [XSW.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XSW.US.md) - [GOOGL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GOOGL.US.md) - [CLOU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/CLOU.US.md) - [GGLL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GGLL.US.md) - [GOOW.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GOOW.US.md) - [IGV.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/IGV.US.md) - [DAT.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/DAT.US.md) - [XDAT.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XDAT.US.md) - [GOOG.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GOOG.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Google brings its Gemini Personal Intelligence feature to India](https://longbridge.com/en/news/282713461.md) - [Google rolls out notebooks in Gemini to organise chats, files and more](https://longbridge.com/en/news/282182400.md) - [Google launches a Gemini AI app on Mac](https://longbridge.com/en/news/282885126.md) - [Google's Latest Gemini Upgrade Signals A Bigger Robotics Push](https://longbridge.com/en/news/282737180.md) - [Google’s Spotlight-like desktop search bar for Windows is available for everyone](https://longbridge.com/en/news/282727695.md)
