The two models are among BYD's first to support flash-charging technology, having previously debuted at the company's tech event on March 5. The Tai 3 flash-charging edition offers two configurations: a 620-kilometer rear-wheel-drive version and a 565-kilometer four-wheel-drive version, with official guide prices ranging from 153,800 yuan ($22,300) to 169,800 yuan. Under normal temperature conditions, the Tai 3 flash-charging edition takes only about five minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 70%. If users choose to charge up to 97%, the total time required is merely around nine minutes. Even in extreme low-temperature environments of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the model's charging time increases by just three minutes. This technology aims to eliminate range anxiety for electric vehicle consumers. The Tai 7 EV flash-charging edition, with a pre-sales price range of 220,000 yuan to 250,000 yuan, is a mid-size pure electric SUV that provides family users with larger cargo space and a longer driving range. According to official data, the two-wheel-drive version of the Tai 7 EV flash-charging edition can achieve a maximum pure electric range of 755 kilometers, making it the longest-range pure electric model in the current product lineup. The 565-kilometer four-wheel-drive flash-charging edition is further upgraded with an intelligent all-terrain recognition and torque control system, allowing the vehicle to easily handle complex road conditions, including snow and mud. The Tai series is Fang Cheng Bao's second major product line, following the Bao series, which focuses on hardcore off-roading. Unlike the Bao series, Tai models focus more on unibody designs geared toward family use. To support these new models equipped with fast-charging capabilities, BYD is advancing its network construction, aiming to surpass 20,000 flash-charging stations by the end of 2026. As of March 12, the number of BYD flash-charging stations had rapidly increased to 4,597. The first batch of Tai 3 flash-charging edition owners will be entitled to free flash-charging services for the first 18 months.
