# US natgas production hit record high in 2025, says EIA

March 13 (Reuters) - Natural gas production marketed in the U.S. reached a record high of 118.5 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) on average in 2025, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said on Friday.

Appalachia, Permian and Haynesville accounted for 81% of last year’s growth and showed about 4.2 bcf growth compared to 1.1 bcf for other regions, the government agency said.

The EIA said the rise was driven by a 60% increase in Henry Hub spot prices to $3.52 million British thermal units (MMBtu).

Front-month gas futures for April delivery (NGc1) on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 4.0 cents, or 1.2%, to $3.193 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) on Friday.

On Thursday, the contract closed at its highest level since February 13. (NGA/)
