# "Commodity" The German government plans to limit gas stations to raising prices once a day, prompting German car owners to travel to neighboring Poland for cheaper fuel

According to a report by Deutsche Presse-Agentur, the German government will introduce regulations limiting gas stations to raising prices only once a day at noon, and will strengthen the enforcement of competition laws in the fuel industry, simplifying the relevant provisions of antitrust agencies in the event of improper price increases. The new regulations are expected to take effect before the first week of April. Austria has previously implemented measures to limit price increases at gas stations.

German Minister of Economics Katherina Reiche previously stated that the government is considering strengthening regulation of the fuel industry. Price checks will be intensified, as fuel companies have been accused of artificially raising gasoline and diesel prices.

Additionally, according to Agence France-Presse, German car owners are crossing the border to Poland to purchase gasoline. According to the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC), as of last Wednesday (the 11th), the price of Super E10 gasoline was €2.01 per liter, and diesel was €2.13 per liter, representing increases of approximately 15% and 24% respectively compared to last month. The report indicates that Polish gas stations have set the price of diesel at the equivalent of €1.81 per liter, benefiting from lower value-added tax and fuel tax rates imposed by the Polish government
