# The operating rate data is improving, the construction machinery ETF ChinaAMC adjusted in early trading, and the updated cycle supports the prosperity of the sector

On the morning of March 16, the three major A-share indices showed divergent trends. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.92% during the session, while sectors such as food and beverage, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries saw gains. Non-ferrous metals and steel sectors experienced the largest declines. The engineering machinery sector showed mixed performance among individual stocks. As of 10:42, the engineering machinery ETF ChinaAMC (515970.SH) fell 2.41%, while its constituent stocks Dianguang Tech rose 3.13%, Paguld rose 2.75%, Runbang Co., Ltd. rose 2.03%, and Henggong Precision rose 1.31%. However, companies like Xinxin Co., Ltd. and CITIC Heavy Industries performed poorly, with declines of -6.33% and -5.92%, respectively.

Some physical workload indicators, such as the operating rate of engineering machinery, showed significant improvement. In January and February, the operating rates of concrete equipment, lifting equipment, and paving equipment increased by 5.2, 2.2, and 0.2 percentage points year-on-year, respectively. The operating rate of cement mills increased by 8.7 percentage points year-on-year; the apparent consumption of steel increased by 4.2% year-on-year, with the growth rate expanding by 12.2 percentage points compared to December.

Southwest Securities stated that February's exports of engineering machinery exceeded expectations, and the industry's prosperity continues to improve. The main theme remains "replacement cycle + external demand drive." Short-term fluctuations in domestic sales due to the mismatch during the Spring Festival do not change the upward trend for the year. The manufacturing PMI in China fell seasonally in February, with the Spring Festival mismatch leading to a short-term contraction in supply and demand, but large enterprises and high-tech manufacturing still maintained expansion.

The engineering machinery ETF ChinaAMC (515970) closely tracks the CSI Construction Machinery Theme Index, allowing for easy investment in leading companies in the industry chain, fully benefiting from the upward trend in the engineering machinery sector. Currently, the fund's management fee is 0.15% per year, and the custody fee is 0.05% per year, which is among the lowest in the industry for similar products
