# New private home sales in February fell nearly 50% month-on-month, with a total of 246 units sold | Lianhe Zaobao

After the Lunar New Year, the buying interest in Singapore's private residential market has waned, with new private residential sales significantly declining.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) released estimated data on Monday (March 16), indicating that in February, new private residential sales reached 246 units, a 47% drop from January's 466 units, and over a 70% decline compared to the same period last year.

Developers launched only 15 new private residential units in February, far below January's 786 units and significantly lower than last February's 1,694 units.

From a regional market perspective, the Rest of Central Region (RCR), representing mid-range private residential properties, led other regions with a total of 103 units sold.

The Outside Central Region (OCR), representing mass-market private residential properties, sold 80 units and was the only region to launch new units in February, with all 15 new units coming from the Pollen Collection II project launched by Singapore United Estates under Bukit Sembawang In addition, the sales in the Core Central Region (CCR), representing high-end private residences, reached 63 units
