# Understanding the Market | BABA-W surged over 4% in the afternoon as Alibaba Cloud announced a price increase of up to 34%

According to Zhitong Finance APP, Alibaba-W (09988) surged over 4% in the afternoon, with a current increase of 4.01%, priced at HKD 140, and a trading volume of HKD 8.65 billion.

In terms of news, Alibaba Cloud's official website announced that due to the explosive global demand for AI and rising supply chain costs, prices for Alibaba Cloud's AI computing power, storage, and other products have increased by up to 34%. Among them, products like the PingTouGe ZhenWu 810E computing cards have risen by 5%-34%, and the file storage product CPFS (Intelligent Computing Version) has increased by 30%. According to reports from Caixin, another important reason for this round of price increases is the "surge in Token call volume." Alibaba Cloud's MaaS business, BaiLian, achieved its highest growth rate in history from January to March this year. Alibaba Cloud is directing scarce AI computing resources towards Token business.

Previously, on March 17, Alibaba launched the world's first enterprise-level AI-native work platform—"Wukong," allowing every team and company to have a "Lobster Legion" that works 24 hours a day. Earlier, Alibaba announced the establishment of the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) business group, aimed at creating a new organization focused on "creating Tokens, delivering Tokens, and applying Tokens," directly led by CEO Eric Wu. This move signifies Alibaba's intention to establish a unified "Token Dispatch Center" to fully support the development of its core AI business departments
