Analyst Andrew Percoco expressed optimism about Tesla's autonomous taxi and Cybercab autonomous vehicle production, believing that this business is expected to create a strong "flywheel effect" within Tesla's ecosystem. Percoco pointed out: "For every additional mile of unsupervised driving for autonomous taxis, the underlying autonomous driving model can be continuously optimized, thereby accelerating the realization of fully autonomous driving for personal vehicles. This advancement will drive the penetration rate of the FSD suite, thereby boosting vehicle demand and enhancing cash flow generation capabilities. Against the backdrop of rising capital expenditures and cash consumption in the short term, breakthroughs in personal FSD technology will become a key lever to revitalize vehicle sales and profit margins, providing funding support for Tesla's long-term layout in the field of physical artificial intelligence." Although Tesla has deliberately maintained caution in its rollout process in Austin, this move helps the company refine its promotion strategy and lays the foundation for rapid scaling in the seven new cities planned for the first half of this year. Tesla expects that after launching in new cities, the transition time for vehicles from being supervised to fully autonomous driving will be significantly shortened. Crucially, the Morgan Stanley analyst team believes that with the vertical integration advantages of vehicle manufacturing and fleet operations (including services, maintenance, charging, insurance, etc.), Tesla's autonomous taxi has a structural cost advantage. Percoco emphasized: "Taking the Model Y as an example, we estimate its comprehensive cost to be about $0.81 per mile (excluding tolls), while the ride-hailing industry is about $1.71 per mile, and Waymo is about $1.43 per mile.
