# QBE Appoints Transactional Liability Lead for Asia

**Sydney-headquartered insurer QBE has announced the appointment of a transactional liability lead for Asia.**

QBE has appointed **Reuben Lee** as transactional liability (TLI) lead for Asia, according to a statement. In the newly created role, he will provide strategic direction for underwriting the portfolio in Asia, focusing on growth and risk management in the M&A insurance space. Based in Singapore, he reports to **Arati Varma**, head of financial lines & liability for Asia.

Lee joins from Willis Towers Watson (WTW), where he served as broking director, leading M&A risk advisory mandates across Singapore, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he worked at Ryan Transactional Risk as a senior underwriter.

TLI continues to be an area of expansion for us and we're excited to bring the next phase of this growth to Asia,» said QBE’s global head of TLI **Toria Lessman**.

QBE's TLI practice was first introduced to London in 2023 and has since expanded to cover other parts of Europe, including Italy, Germany, France, the Nordics and Spain.
