# Broadcom faces complaints from European groups, calling for regulatory action

Chip manufacturer Broadcom (AVGO.US) was urged by the Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe (CISPE) on Thursday to prompt EU regulators to temporarily block the company's termination of its VMware cloud service provider program in Europe, which may expose the company to an EU antitrust investigation.

CISPE stated that Broadcom announced the termination of its VMware cloud service provider program in Europe in January this year, and this unilateral decision canceled the qualifications of all partners except for a very few selected partners, thereby excluding most European cloud service providers from selling VMware products, which has harmed cloud service providers and their customers.

Regulators responded by confirming receipt of the complaint and are currently assessing it according to standard procedures. Broadcom strongly opposes CISPE's allegations, claiming they distort the true state of the market, and that the company has made significant investments in its European VMware cloud service provider partners
