The system is designed for high power density and efficiency in the high-voltage range. It combines the SMG230 electric motor with a highly efficient inverter based on silicon carbide power modules. The motor supports system voltages from 400 to 850 volts and delivers a continuous output of 188 kW and around 250 Nm of torque under optimal conditions. Peak torque can reach up to 550 Nm for short periods. Bosch adds that developers have increased the power density through 800-volt technology: “The new motor delivers up to 80 kilowatts more power than a comparable 400-volt machine with identical weight or, with the same level of performance, boasts more compact dimensions and a much lower weight. Engineered to meet the specific requirements of the 800-volt system, the silicon carbide semiconductors in the power modules enable faster switching operations and steeper switching slopes, meaning that significantly less energy is lost in the form of heat.” The inverters in the powertrain system are expected to achieve an overall efficiency of over 99 per cent. Furthermore, the safety and diagnostic concept is based on proven standards from the automotive sector and has been adapted to meet the requirements of intralogistics. This technology transfer is intended to ensure ‘high robustness, reliability and durability.’ Bosch Engineering supports customers in integrating the powertrain into logistics machinery and in applying the system. The compact dimensions of the powertrain are designed to facilitate easy integration into tight installation spaces, enabling even existing equipment platforms to be retrofitted with the electric drive. “Our powerful new electrification solution combines high power density, compact dimensions, and optimum efficiency. Its impressive flexibility makes it the perfect choice for the electrification of all types of intralogistics machines in heavy-duty operation,” said Philipp Kurek, responsible for off-highway and maritime solutions at Bosch Engineering. The new electrification solution is part of Bosch Engineering’s product portfolio. It can be combined with gearbox solutions from Bosch Rexroth, such as the new coaxial gearbox eGFV9120. Additionally, the ‘Collision Avoidance System’ (CAS), based on Bosch Rexroth’s open BODAS operating system, can be directly integrated into the 800-volt powertrain system. The SMG230, paired with the mounted Bosch Rexroth coaxial gearbox eGFV9120 for intralogistics, will be showcased for the first time at LogiMAT 2026 in Hall 8, Stand B41. bosch-presse.de ### Related Stocks - [BOSCH.NA](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/BOSCH.NA.md) ## Related News & Research - [ZAWYA: Strategy 2030: Bosch plays to its innovative strengths](https://longbridge.com/en/news/284180854.md) - [ZF commits to development and production of e-motors and inverters](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286935266.md) - [Bosch secures major order from Mercedes-Benz for electric motors](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286909237.md) - [Germany's ZF to keep electric motor production in-house but with fewer staff](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286899680.md) - [PERIXX Unveils PERIBOARD-535 II — Low-Profile Ergonomic Mechanical Keyboard for Comfortable All-Day Typing](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286726795.md)
