# The Chinese team discovers a new particle using the Large Hadron Collider in Europe

The European Organization for Nuclear Research recently announced that the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) collaboration has discovered a brand new particle. It consists of 2 charm quarks and 1 down quark, and is a singly charged "doubly charmed baryon." This new discovery helps physicists better understand the role of strong interactions in the formation of protons, neutrons, and other composite particles. (Xinhua News Agency)
