# 25 licensed securities firms enter the market, accelerating carbon finance business

Driven by the triple factors of policy guidance, market expansion, and industry transformation, since March, securities firms have accelerated their layout in carbon finance. Seven securities firms, including Changjiang Securities, SINOLINK SECURITIES, SHANXI SECURITIES, and GXED, have been approved to participate in carbon emission trading, increasing the total number of securities firms allowed to participate in carbon emission trading to 25. Currently, China's carbon market has become the largest carbon market in the world in terms of covered emissions, but insufficient liquidity remains a pain point for the market. The entry of securities firms is expected to enhance the pricing efficiency and market vitality of China's carbon market. SHANXI SECURITIES and GXED stated that they will deeply explore financial services and combine the carbon market to create a comprehensive financial strategy. (China Securities Journal)
