# Sun Hung Kai stated that its investment is inclined towards asset-backed credit projects, optimistic about the Hong Kong property market and the prospects in mainland China

Geopolitical risks continue to escalate. Antony James Edwards, Vice President of Sun Hung Kai Co. (086), stated that the company is well-prepared to consider the opportunities brought by volatility and risk premiums. The company's diversified investment portfolio and asset-backed lending strategy allow it to remain robust in the current environment, and it is confident in the long-term prospects of Hong Kong real estate and the mainland.

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Antony James Edwards said, "No one can benefit from the current state of the Middle East," believing that short-term uncertainties will exacerbate market volatility. He added, "People are currently seeking certainty rather than merely looking for opportunities," emphasizing that diversification will be one of the primary principles of investment.

As anxiety over private credit spreads in the market, Antony James Edwards pointed out that the company prefers asset-backed lending projects, joking that "while there are many investment ideas in the market, quality projects are rare." The company examines about 2,000 transaction projects each year but may ultimately invest in only 20, stressing the priority of providing credit to borrowers with strong financial strength and clear repayment capabilities to avoid systemic risks.

Regarding the local real estate market, Antony James Edwards stated that although the market may struggle to return to past peaks, the current healthy adjustment in the primary and secondary property markets, combined with the Hong Kong government's provision of a flexible capital market, the positive spillover effects from the recovery of the mainland economy, and the rental growth driven by new talents coming to Hong Kong, all support the Hong Kong real estate market and the overall economy. He remains optimistic about the development of the commercial real estate market in Hong Kong in the long run
