# Meta recruits the AI startup Dreamer team

This recruitment will bring back Hugo Barra, former virtual reality executive at Meta, to the company.

Meta Platforms has recruited the founding team and all employees of the artificial intelligence startup Dreamer. Singleton announced on the X platform that Dreamer co-founders Hugo Barra, David Singleton, and Nikolai Gitkov will join Meta's Superintelligence Lab department. He also stated that as part of this collaboration, Dreamer will license its technology to Meta.

This startup, which only launched its beta version a month ago, allows users to create custom AI agents capable of automating tasks. Singleton mentioned that thousands of users are already using Dreamer to manage emails, schedules, and learn new skills.

Two of Dreamer's co-founders previously worked at Meta. Barra served as Vice President of Virtual Reality at Meta, Gitkov was the Senior Design Director of the company's VR department before joining Google. Singleton is the former Chief Technology Officer of payment company Stripe
