# Apple Inc. is reportedly planning to change its strategy by opening Siri to external artificial intelligence assistants

Apple plans to open Siri to external artificial intelligence assistants, aiming to strengthen the iPhone's position as an AI platform.

According to informed sources, Apple is preparing to make this change as part of a comprehensive upgrade to Siri in the upcoming iOS 27 operating system update. Through collaboration with OpenAI, Siri can already access ChatGPT, but Apple will now also allow access to other competitive products.

These changes are part of Apple's efforts to reverse its decline in the field of artificial intelligence. Apple has lagged behind its Silicon Valley peers in this area. Revamping Siri, which was first launched nearly 15 years ago, is at the core of this turnaround plan. An Apple spokesperson declined to comment.

Informed sources said that Apple is developing new tools to enable AI chatbot applications installed via the App Store to integrate with the Siri assistant. As the related plans have not yet been announced, these individuals requested anonymity. These chatbots will also work in conjunction with an upcoming Siri application and other features within the Apple Intelligence platform
