Component stocks such as Yara International rose by 3.45%, Guangdong Hongda rose by 3.29%, Hualu Hengsheng rose by 2.92%, Salt Lake Co. rose by 2.85%, and Hebang Biotechnology rose by 2.55%.

Everbright Securities pointed out that the geopolitical situation in the Middle East continues to escalate, with multiple petrochemical facilities in Iran's South Pars and Assaluyeh being attacked. The game between the U.S. and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz has intensified, and Brent crude oil prices rose by 8.77% in a week to USD 112.19 per barrel. Driven by this, the prices of basic chemical products have generally increased, with PVC (Southeast Asia CFR), international ethylene, and methyl isobutyl ketone leading the gains. Hydrochloric acid (Jiangsu) surged by 36.36% in a week, while liquid chlorine plummeted by 50% due to supply-demand mismatch. The recent fluctuations in raw materials have strengthened the cost transmission capability in the midstream and upstream sectors, creating structural benefits for chemical companies with integrated advantages.

Guotai Junan Securities noted that the current volatility in energy prices has intensified, and high oil prices have become a significant variable in the short term. Driven by multiple factors such as highlighted cost advantages, enhanced industrial substitution, and optimized industry structure, the performance elasticity and allocation value of the coal chemical sector continue to improve.

Data shows that as of February 27, 2026, the top ten weighted stocks in the CSI Chemicals Sub-industry Theme Index are Wanhua Chemical, Salt Lake Co., Zangge Mining, Tianci Materials, Hualu Hengsheng, Yuntianhua, Juhua Co., Hengli Petrochemical, Baofeng Energy, and Rongsheng Petrochemical, with the top ten weighted stocks accounting for a total of 45.18%.
