# ABC is expected to regain positive growth in net interest income in the first quarter

Agricultural Bank of China (01288.HK) Chairman Wang Zhiheng stated at the 2025 annual performance release that in the first two months of this year, loans increased by 1.1 trillion yuan, and net interest income has stopped declining, with expectations that the first quarter may return to positive growth. The bank's non-performing loan ratio has decreased for five consecutive years, and it will continue to strengthen risk management to prevent and resolve risks related to real estate and local government debt, while accelerating the development of new inclusive retail credit businesses, expressing confidence that asset quality can remain stable this year.

Wang Zhiheng also mentioned that the bank's key tasks this year include promoting positive net interest income, increasing loans, especially in key policy areas such as domestic demand, technology, and green initiatives, and strengthening loan pricing management to lower funding costs
