At the same time, the total trading volume in the securities industry also climbed 52% year-on-year to HKD 219 trillion, breaking the previous high set in 2021. The report noted that revenues from major business segments generally recorded double-digit percentage growth, with net commission income from securities trading, advisory and underwriting income, and asset management-related income increasing by 50%, 27%, and 30%, respectively. ## Group C Brokers Show the Largest Increase in Net Profit In addition, the total net profit of all participants in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2025 amounted to HKD 35.4 billion, an increase of 62% compared to last year. Group C brokers saw their net profit rise by approximately 77% to HKD 6.1 billion, marking the largest percentage increase. Group B brokers' net profit climbed 67% to HKD 16.8 billion, while Group A brokers' net profit increased by 49% to HKD 12.5 billion. The average securities financing collateral ratio rose from 3.9 times in 2024 to 4.5 times, while outstanding margin loans also increased by 22% year-on-year, indicating a robust growth momentum in the industry.
