Rebellions' latest pre-IPO round brings its total funding to $850 million and values the company at more than $2.3 billion, placing it among the most highly valued private AI chip startups globally. The round was led by Mirae Asset Financial Group and the state-backed Korea National Growth Fund, which committed KRW250 billion ($165.5 million) under its K-Nvidia initiative. The investment was made to help strengthen South Korea's domestic AI semiconductor ecosystem.
The recent funding follows a $250 million Series C round completed in September 2025, backed by Arm Holdings (ARM) and Samsung, as well as a $124 million Series B round in 2024. Altogether, the company has secured $650 million in funding within the past six months alone.
CEO Sunghyun Park stated that the funding will support the company's expansion into the U.S. ahead of its highly anticipated planned IPO in 2026. The startup is prioritizing major AI labs such as Meta Platforms (META) and Elon Musk's xAI rather than hyperscale cloud providers such as Amazon (AMZN) and Microsoft (MSFT).
Furthermore, the move places Rebellions among a new generation of AI chip startups challenging Nvidia, alongside rivals like Cerebras Systems and Groq, particularly as demand grows for specialized inference hardware beyond traditional GPUs. While Park refused to disclose revenue figures, he said the company has a "strong revenue pipeline," highlighting that securing enough memory chip supply remains one of the major challenges.
Rebellions Unveils New AI Systems as IPO Plans Advance
Alongside its latest funding round, Rebellions introduced two new AI infrastructure platforms: RebelPOD and RebelRack, which are designed to support large-scale inference deployment across enterprises. RebelPOD will provide ready-to-use inference compute units, while RebelRack will combine "multiple racks into a scalable cluster designed for large-scale AI deployment," the company said.
The Chief Business Officer, Marshall Choy, also revealed in a discussion that Rebellions has recently established entities in the United States, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Taiwan as part of its global expansion strategy. In the U.S., the company is building partnerships with cloud providers, government agencies, telecom operators, and emerging "neocloud" infrastructure platforms.
Speaking about the upcoming public debut, Rebellions' CEO confirmed that the company is preparing for an IPO but declined to provide specifics on the timeline or listing location. If the debut happens this year, it could position Rebellions alongside top pre-IPO AI companies such as SpaceX, Anthropic, Databricks, and others.
