For the first quarter, the S&P 500 fell 4.6% cumulatively, the Dow Jones fell 3.7% cumulatively, and the NASDAQ Composite Index fell 7.2% cumulatively. On Tuesday, the S&P 500 Index closed preliminarily %, the telecommunications sector rose 4.3%, the technology sector rose 4.1%, the consumer discretionary sector rose 3.2%, and the energy sector fell 1.2%. The NASDAQ-100 closed preliminarily %, and among its components, Marvell Tech rose 12.8%, Arm Holdings rose 10.5%, MPWR rose 9.3%, Seagate Technology rose 8%, Western Digital rose 7.5%, T-Mobile fell 1.8%, Charter Communications fell 2.3%, and nuclear power stock CEG fell 6.5%.
