WERIDE, 00800) partners with Grab to officially launch services On April 1st, global leading autonomous driving technology company WeRide (WRD.US, 00800) and Southeast Asia's leading super app Grab (GRAB.US) announced the official launch of the Ai.R autonomous driving ride-hailing service (Autonomously Intelligent Ride) in the Punggol area of Singapore. Starting today, the public can experience Singapore's first autonomous public transportation service within residential communities. The full public operation of the Ai.R autonomous driving ride-hailing service is built on a foundation of extensive prior community communication and testing. Since January 2026, over 1,000 passengers have participated in trial rides, including Punggol residents and community representatives, who have continuously provided feedback to drive the optimization of the autonomous driving service. Grab looks forward to using this opportunity to create a more inclusive and sustainable transportation ecosystem in Singapore.” **Supporting Drivers in Transitioning to Autonomous Driving Careers** While advancing the implementation of autonomous driving technology, WeRide and Grab also place a high emphasis on talent transformation and capability building. In the early stages of the Ai.R project's public operation, each autonomous vehicle is equipped with a safety officer to ensure smooth and safe rides. To date, 14 Grab drivers have completed joint professional training with WeRide and GrabAcademy, obtaining autonomous driving safety officer certification, and training and assessment for a new batch of drivers is currently underway In addition, both parties have launched a remote safety officer training program, where trainees will learn how to remotely monitor and schedule the fleet at the Ai.R operation command center. Grab's senior driver Vincent Teo has successfully transitioned to an autonomous driving safety officer and is one of the first participants in the remote safety officer training. He stated, "I am looking forward to the upcoming remote safety officer training. When I first transitioned, I never imagined I would be in such a cutting-edge technology field. This is an important milestone for me, and I am proud to bring this future mode of transportation to more Singaporeans." Grab driver Ridhwan Wajib, who recently transitioned to a safety officer, expressed, "I am honored to be one of the first participants in Singapore's autonomous driving transportation. More importantly, I am very much looking forward to my parents and family being able to ride and experience the autonomous driving technology together." **Inviting the public to experience Ai.R autonomous driving services** The public can register to experience Ai.R fleet services through the exclusive reservation link on the Ai.R official website (rideair.ai). The design of the operational routes fully incorporates community feedback, connecting residential areas with major living facilities and transportation hubs. During the public operation period, passengers can flexibly choose routes and times: · Operating hours: Weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. · Operating routes: Passengers can choose between two complete autonomous driving shuttle routes. From passing the Milestone 1 (M1) assessment certification to achieving full public operation, it took only about 7 months, showcasing the efficient implementation pace of WERIDE's mature technological foundation and Grab's strong operational capabilities, as well as the effective collaboration between government and enterprises.
