# Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and six other departments: Prioritize support for the renovation and upgrading of old facilities such as refining and ethylene

36Kr learned that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and six other departments issued the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Renovation and Upgrading of Old Equipment in the Petrochemical Industry (2026-2029)." The action plan proposes that when researching the layout of major petrochemical projects, priority should be given to supporting the renovation and upgrading of old equipment for refining, ethylene, para-xylene, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), and coal-to-methanol.
