# Three major A-share indices turn down across the board, Shanghai Composite loses 3900 points again; computing power hardware explodes, CPO surges, oil & gas and coal sectors adjust collectively

On April 3, after opening higher, A-shares oscillated and fell, with all three major indices turning negative. The Shanghai Composite Index once again fell below the 3,900-point mark. Computing power hardware stocks exploded collectively, while sectors such as CPO and optical communications surged across the board. The lithium battery industry chain, power, and petrochemical sectors underwent adjustments. In the bond market, Treasury bond futures generally rose. In the commodity market, most domestic commodity futures fell, with polysilicon down nearly 4%. The Hong Kong market is closed today for a holiday. Core market trends:

Additionally, the fiber optic concept continued its strength. Huiyuan Communication hit limit-up at the opening bell, recording its second consecutive limit-up board; HTGD rose over 9%, and YOFC once rose over 6% to hit a new historical high, with OPTOWIDE, Everbright, and Accelink following the gains.

All three major indices turned negative as the Shanghai Composite Index once again fell below the 3,900-point mark. Coal, oil and gas, chemical, and agricultural sectors led the declines. Over 4,600 stocks across the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets were in the red.

On the news front, on April 2, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued a notice on carrying out a special action to empower small and medium-sized enterprises with inclusive computing power development. Among them, the inclusive supply of computing power services is a key part of this action. The MIIT for the first time explicitly proposed exploring innovative businesses such as "computing power banks" and "computing power supermarkets," supporting SMEs in depositing idle computing power resources and achieving flexible usage through cross-regional and cross-cycle scheduling.

Innovative drug concepts saw localized strength, with Lemei Pharmaceutical rising over 17%. Jinyao Pharmaceutical hit its 6th consecutive limit-up, Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical rose over 6%, and China Meheco, 3SBio Guojian, Junshi Biosciences, and Xintian Pharmaceutical followed.

On the news front, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting will be held in San Diego, USA, from April 17-22, 2026. It is reported that more than 100 Chinese pharmaceutical companies are appearing at AACR this year, bringing nearly 400 research findings.

The coal sector fluctuated and slumped during the session, with Yunnan Coal Energy approaching the limit-down. Zhengzhou Coal Industry & Electric Power, Shaanxi Black Cat, Antai Group, Shanghai Energy, and Liaoning Energy fell over 5%.
