# Polymarket Plans Exchange Overhaul with New USD Collateral Token

Polymarket has announced plans to revamp its exchange infrastructure over the next two to three weeks. According to NS3.AI, the upgrade will include a new trading engine, updated contracts, and the introduction of a Polymarket USD collateral token. This token will be backed 1:1 by USDC. During the upgrade, existing order books will be cleared during a brief maintenance period.
