# Iran Bombs Haifa in Past 24 Hours, No Missiles Intercepted; "Israel Effectively Admits Defeat by Abandoning Northern City"

According to CCTV International News, Majid Mousavi, Commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated via social media on the evening of April 6, local time, that refineries, power facilities, ports, and railways in the northern Israeli city of Haifa were bombed by Iranian missiles over the past 24 hours, with no reports of any missiles being intercepted. He noted, "By abandoning the northern city, Israel has effectively admitted defeat."

Israel's emergency rescue services stated on the 6th that after 18 hours of search and rescue, all four people trapped under the rubble of a residential building in the northern city of Haifa following the Iranian missile attack were found dead. Additionally, eight others sustained various levels of injuries. This is the most severe casualty toll caused by Iranian missiles in the urban area of Haifa since the conflict began.

On the 6th, the IRGC issued a statement saying that it had launched the 98th wave of the "True Promise-4" operation that day, targeting strategic centers in northern and southern Tel Aviv and Haifa, chemical enterprises and factories in Beersheba, and IDF positions in Petah Tikva.

## Iranian Missiles Repeatedly Breach Interception, Causing Casualties Across Israel

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** From the afternoon of the 5th to the morning of the 6th local time, Iranian missiles repeatedly breached Israel's air defense systems, hitting locations including Haifa and Tel Aviv, causing widespread destruction. This is a rare instance recently where Iranian missiles have simultaneously caused significant damage and casualties in densely populated urban areas across multiple cities.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** In the northern city of Haifa, a six-story residential building was hit by an Iranian missile on the afternoon of the 5th, causing structural damage and a major fire, with at least four people buried under the rubble. According to emergency services, as of 9:00 AM on the 6th, two people had been located but were deceased. Two others remained buried under the debris. The attack also injured at least eight people.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** From the early hours to the morning of the 6th, Iran launched four intensive rounds totaling over a dozen missiles at Israel, including some carrying cluster warheads. This is a relatively rare instance recently of Iran launching intensive missile strikes during the early morning hours. Preliminary statistics show that these missiles caused damage in multiple locations in Haifa and Tel Aviv, with at least 20 points of destruction in central Israel alone, including buildings, vehicles, and streets, resulting in at least 20 injuries.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** According to Israeli statistics, Iran has launched approximately 500 missiles at Israel since the start of the war, with at least 14 hitting densely populated areas and causing large-scale destruction. Additionally, there are reports of about 30 missiles carrying cluster warheads hitting urban areas. According to assessments by the Israeli Air Force Intelligence Department, Israel believes Iran still possesses around 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of directly threatening the Israeli mainland.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** The building behind me is the six-story residential building directly hit by an Iranian missile this time. As I point to the side facing the street, we can see that the building structure itself has not suffered much damage. However, the side of the building on this other side is almost entirely destroyed; we can no longer see its original form.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** This is because this warhead, weighing several hundred kilograms, did not explode upon impact but instead directly struck the rear side of the building with physical force, creating this scene. Currently, the warhead remains under the rubble, posing an ongoing risk of explosion. Local police informed us that residents of this building and several surrounding ones have been evacuated.

**Israeli Police Spokesperson Elston:** We are dealing with an unexploded warhead. Bomb disposal experts need to conduct two initial assessments. The first is to ensure it is stable enough for us to conduct search and rescue operations; the second will determine whether we need to detonate the warhead on-site.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** From the afternoon of the 5th local time when the building was hit, until late morning on the 6th, it took nearly until noon for all four people trapped under the rubble to be found. All four have deceased.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** Now we can look at the positional context of this strike site. The direction I am pointing is the building hit by the missile this time. In the distance behind me, you can see Haifa Port, the power plant, and Haifa Airport. They are only a few kilometers away from my current location by straight-line distance.

**CCTV Reporter Liang Hui:** We have noticed that in the early stages of the war, the primary targets of Iranian missile attacks were concentrated on Tel Aviv and multiple locations in central Israel. Now, however, in addition to those locations, the focus of Iranian missile strikes has shifted toward industrial cities in the south and Haifa, Israel's most important industrial city in the north.

## Israel Says It Will Accelerate Production of "Arrow" Interceptors

According to CCTV News, the Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a statement on April 6 saying it will accelerate the production of interceptors for the "Arrow" missile defense system and "prepare for evolving combat conditions." Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated in the announcement that Israel currently has "sufficient" interceptors to protect the public, and the acceleration is intended to ensure "sustained combat capability."

According to previous reports by Israeli and American media, Israel's interceptors are being rapidly depleted, and stockpiles are "severely insufficient." This issue existed before the joint US-Israeli military strikes on Iran on February 28, as the Israeli military consumed a massive number of interceptors during the conflict with Iran last June, the so-called "12-Day War."

Israel's multi-layered defense architecture includes the "Arrow" system for intercepting long-range ballistic missiles, the "David's Sling" medium-range air defense system, the "Iron Dome" short-range system, and the "Iron Beam." The US-Israeli developed "Arrow" system is the primary defense against Iranian ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.

According to AFP, the "Arrow-2" interceptors can operate both within and outside the atmosphere, while the "Arrow-3" handles exo-atmospheric interception. The cost of a single "Arrow-2" and "Arrow-3" interceptor is approximately $1.5 million and $2 million, respectively.

## Israel Announces Termination of All Defense Procurement from France

On the 5th local time, CCTV reporters learned from an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson that because France has taken multiple measures that "damage Israel's security"—including banning Israeli military aircraft from using French airspace for combat missions against Iran—the Israeli Ministry of Defense has halted all defense procurement from France.

The spokesperson stated that Israel is currently conducting military operations against Iran, while France is "actively obstructing the transfer of munitions to Israel." The spokesperson said Iranian ballistic missiles "have the capability to strike European cities, including Paris."

The spokesperson noted, "Despite prior coordination, despite clear explanations that these munitions were intended solely for use against Iran, and despite both parties' understanding that this effort was equally vital to European security, France nonetheless imposed the ban."

In response, the spokesperson said Director-General of the Ministry of Defense Amir Baram "has decided to reduce all defense procurement from France to zero," replacing it with domestic procurement or purchases from "allied nations." He stated this is part of a strategy to "establish complete defense autonomy and eliminate dependence on untrustworthy nations."

The spokesperson added that the Ministry of Defense, together with the National Security Council, has notified French Defense Minister Vautrin, stating, "We do not intend to meet with him and will not conduct new business with the French military."

France has not yet responded to these developments.
