# China Mobile's Shantou Data Center Phase II project has been approved for filing, involving nearly 500 million RMB

China Mobile (Shantou, Guangdong) Data Center Phase II project has recently been approved for filing, with a total investment of 497 million RMB.

The project is located in the Nanshan Bay Industrial Park, Binhai Street, Haojiang District, Shantou City. Phase II will deploy racks and equipment, with a total IT power consumption of 45.4MW, equivalent to 18,160 standard racks, and is scheduled to start construction in April this year and be completed by December 1, 2028.

It is reported that Phase I of the center was put into operation in April 2017, having built 7,449 standard racks and 3.2T export bandwidth, establishing the "core foundation" of the digital economy in Eastern Guangdong
