The RMB/USD central parity rate was reported at 6.8649, up 31 points from the previous day. The People's Bank of China today (9th) conducted a 500 million RMB (same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 500 million RMB of reverse repos are maturing. On the same day, 70 billion RMB of treasury cash deposits are maturing. The three major A-share indices opened lower. The SSE Index opened at 3,967 points, down 27 points or 0.7%. The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 13,928 points, down 114 points or 0.8%. The ChiNext Index opened at 3,316 points, down 31 points or 0.9%. Banking stocks opened flat. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) opened unchanged.
