# Japan’s Meiko Electronics to further invest $50M in Vietnam

Meiko Electronics, a Japanese manufacturer of printed circuit board (PCB), will invest $50 million in establishing Meiko Electronics Yen Quang, a new subsidiary in Vietnam.

In a statement on Wednesday, Meiko Electronics said the investment aims to accommodate the expected growth in demand from customers advancing supply chain localization in the ASEAN region. The demand can exceed the production capacity of Meiko Electronics’ existing and under-construction factories, so the firm decided to build a new manufacturing plant, according to the statement.

Meiko Electronics said the new PCB manufacturing subsidiary is located in Phu Tho province, northern Vietnam. The establishment is slated for April 25, 2026.

Meiko Electronics started investing in Vietnam in 2006 with its first factory in Hanoi. Its latest factory in Vietnam, also the fifth one, kicked off construction in Hoa Binh province (now merged into Phu Tho province) in April 2024 with an investment of $200 million. Overall, Meiko Electronics’s investment in Vietnam is set to reach $1 billion.
