# West China experts interpret the collagen market: it is expected to share half of the market with hyaluronic acid in the future

On April 8, 2026, the first SPF-grade porcine collagen implant in mainland China—"Jiao Mi"—was officially launched. At the press conference, Professor Li Zhengyong, Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery at West China Tianfu Hospital of Sichuan University, was interviewed.

He believes that with the launch of SPF porcine collagen "Jiao Mi," it will become an important turning point for collagen to transition from a "supporting role" to a "leading role" in the medical aesthetics field
