# Stocks to Watch on Friday | Lianhe Zaobao

Israel agrees to direct dialogue with Lebanon, boosting market expectations that the US-Iran ceasefire agreement will be maintained, while the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is expected to end, driving US stocks higher overnight on Thursday (April 9).

US stocks rose for the seventh consecutive trading day, with the S&P 500 index setting the longest winning streak since October last year, closing up 0.62% on Thursday; the Nasdaq index rose 0.83%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.58%.

The FTSE Straits Times Index fluctuated downwards by 18.97 points or 0.38%, closing at 4977.08 points.

Currently, the market is holding its breath to observe the direction of the US-Iran ceasefire negotiations taking place in Pakistan on the 11th. Additionally, US State Department officials stated that Israel and Lebanon will hold ceasefire negotiations in Washington next week.

Here are the stocks to watch on Friday (10th):

1.  Geo Energy Resources announced that it has received approval from the Singapore Exchange to place up to 35 million new shares at S$0.525 per share, accounting for approximately 1.97% of the enlarged share capital.

The company previously disclosed that this placement plan will raise approximately S$18.375 million for working capital, to enhance financial flexibility and broaden the shareholder base. Geo Energy Resources' stock price closed at S$0.54 on Thursday, unchanged.

1.  Renewable energy infrastructure company Metis Energy announced on Thursday evening that, according to audited accounts, the company has reported pre-tax losses for the last three fiscal years. The company's stock price closed at S$0.026 on Thursday, up 2.5%.

1.  City Developments Limited (CDL) has launched a Multicurrency Perpetual Securities Issuance Programme worth SGD 2 billion. The net proceeds will be used for general working capital, as well as corporate funding for the group and its subsidiaries, and will also be used to refinance existing loans. City Developments' stock price fell 1.75% on Thursday, closing at SGD 8.44.
    
2.  Singapore Exchange Group (SGX Group) announced on Thursday that the securities market experienced strong growth in March this year, with the Securities Daily Average Value (SDAV) increasing by 62% year-on-year to SGD 2.4 billion, and total trading volume soaring by 78% year-on-year to SGD 52.8 billion. Based on the performance in the first three months of this year, total trading volume increased by 32% quarter-on-quarter to SGD 126 billion.
    

In March, the total trading volume of derivatives increased by 40% year-on-year to 38.3 million contracts, setting a new record; the Daily Average Volume (DAV) of derivatives grew by 35% year-on-year to 1.8 million contracts. From January to March, the trading volume of derivatives increased by 16% quarter-on-quarter to 97.5 million contracts.

SGX's stock price rose 0.59% on Thursday, closing at SGD 20.31.

1.  Oil and gas exploration and production company Rex International announced that oil production from its holdings in Norway, Oman, and Germany amounted to approximately 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in March. The company's stock price closed at SGD 0.075, unchanged.
    
2.  Food company Oceanus Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hong Kong digital asset financial services company HashKey Group. The artificial intelligence financial trading platform developed by Oceanus Group's subsidiary Oceanus Digital Intelligence Network will integrate the settlement technology of HashKey's subsidiary HashKey Technology Services to create a stablecoin settlement system On Thursday, Ousheng's stock price rose by 33.33%, closing at 0.4 cents
