# Shanghai Composite Index recovers 4,000-point mark, ChiNext rises over 2%, brokerages explode, lithium battery supply chain rallies, HSTECH rises over 2%, tech stocks rebound

On April 10, A-shares opened higher and moved further up in the morning session, with the three major indices collectively rising at the start of trading. The Shanghai Composite Index (SCI) regained the 4,000-point mark, the ChiNext Index rose over 2%, and sectors such as the battery supply chain, brokerages, and semiconductor chips saw strong gains. Shipping and computing power hardware, among others, underwent adjustments. Hong Kong stocks also opened higher and moved up, with the Hang Seng Tech Index (HSTECH) rising over 2% as tech stocks collectively rebounded.

In the bond market, treasury bond futures fluctuated with mixed performance. In commodities, domestic commodity futures were mixed, with the Container Freight Index, coking coal, and coke leading the declines, while platinum and lithium carbonate moved higher. Core market performance:

The Shanghai Composite Index rose over 1%, and the ChiNext Index rose 2.8%. The battery supply chain and brokerage stocks surged, with Electrical Grid, Power Generation Equipment, Energy Equipment, and Aerospace & Military sectors leading the gains.

In early trading, the large financial sector rose, with NANHUA FUTURES hitting the daily limit, CITIC SEC rising over 8%, and EASTMONEY, HTSC, INDUSTRIAL SECURITIES, GF SEC, Yinzhijie, and ROYALFLUSH INFO gaining over 5%.

On the news front, on April 9, CITIC Securities Co., Ltd. released its Q1 2026 preliminary earnings report, showing a net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company of 10.216 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 54.6%, and basic earnings per share of 0.67 yuan.

Fiberglass concept stocks rallied rapidly, with Shandong Fiberglass touching the daily limit, followed by Honghe Technology, CPIC, China Jushi, Changhai Co., Ltd., and Sinoma Science & Technology.

In news, Honghe Technology announced that its net profit for 2025 was 202 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 785.55%. During the reporting period, the price of ordinary electronic-grade glass fiber cloth increased year-on-year.

The lithium battery supply chain rallied with volatility, with GOTION and Xinyuren hitting the daily limit, while Canmax Technologies, Great Power, Desay Battery, NARADA, and Dynanonic followed suit.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.49% higher, and the ChiNext Index rose 0.96%. Memory chips, chip packaging, PV inverters, and rare earth concepts led the gains, while the oil & gas and shipping sectors remained sluggish.

The Hang Seng Index opened 0.54% higher, and the HSTECH rose 0.47%. Semiconductors led the gains, with Hua Hong Semiconductor rising over 3%. CITIC SEC rose over 3% as its Q1 net profit increased by 54.6% year-on-year.

Commodity futures opened, with the main contracts of Soybean No. 1 and Propylene rising over 2%, and Cotton, LU Fuel Oil, Paraxylene, PET Chips, Corn, Fuel Oil, Methanol, Polypropylene, Palm Oil, and TSR 20 rising over 1%. Coking coal fell over 4%, caustic soda fell over 3%, and PVC and coke fell over 2%.
