# Prosus continued to reduce its holdings in Tencent (700) by 13 million shares in the first quarter of this year

Tencent's major shareholder, South African media giant Naspers' internet flagship Prosus, sold approximately 13 million shares of Tencent (0700.HK) in the first quarter of this year. Based on Tencent's average closing price of HKD 560.16 in the first three months of this year, the value is approximately HKD 7.28 billion; even at the closing price of HKD 484 at the end of March, the market value is about HKD 6.29 billion.

Prosus initiated a no-dilution policy for Tencent in 2022, aiming to raise funds to repurchase its own shares
