Mining Executives Accused of Illegally Appropriating Brazilian Lithium Mining Rights
The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) in Canada has accused executives of its domestic mineral exploration company, Emerita Resources Corp., of transferring their company's lithium mining project rights to a new company they control, an act suspected of defrauding Emerita and its investors. The regulator claims that Emerita's senior insiders made misleading statements in public filings concerning the "Falcon Project" and a high-grade zinc mine project in Spain named Plaza Norte. Emerita and Lithium Ionic have established special committees to review and respond to these allegations, with a hearing scheduled for May 8 in Toronto.
