# Turkey Conducts First Deep-Sea Oil and Gas Exploration Operations Overseas

According to Turkish media reports on the 10th, the Somali government held a welcome ceremony in the capital, Mogadishu, on the same day to welcome the Turkish deep-water drillship "Cengiz Bey", which arrived off the coast of Somalia on the 9th. This marks the first time Turkey has carried out deep-sea oil and gas exploration and drilling operations overseas.
