# Hong Kong's first batch of stablecoin licenses: TradFi gets the key first, Web3 is still on the sidelines.

On April 10, 2026, Hong Kong's stablecoin regulation entered the "operational" stage: The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced that, in accordance with the Stablecoin Ordinance, it granted a stablecoin issuer license to Anchorpoint Financial Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Anchorpoint Group, and Hong Kong Telecom. The license took effect immediately, and the two institutions will commence operations in the coming months after completing the necessary preparations. Affected by this news, related Hong Kong stocks all rose, with Guotai Junan International seeing a maximum increase of 27.69%, and Yunfeng Financial (a stablecoin concept stock) rising by 8.74%.
