# Guotai CSI New Energy Vehicles ETF (159806) closed up nearly 2%, with a significant recovery in domestic new energy vehicle sales in March

On April 13th, the Guotai CSI New Energy Vehicles ETF (159806) rose nearly 2%, with a significant recovery in domestic new energy vehicle sales in March.

Huaxi Securities pointed out that after crossing the relatively off-season phase of the industry, domestic new energy vehicle sales showed a significant recovery in March, achieving rapid growth month-on-month. With the subsequent launch of new vehicles and the continuous highlighting of model cost-performance advantages, sales are expected to increase, driving a continuous rise in upstream production. Against the backdrop of strong demand for energy storage and the increase in battery capacity per vehicle for new energy vehicles, the lithium battery industry chain has entered a new round of expansion cycle, expanding upstream material demand. Prices are expected to benefit from downstream volume recovery, leading to simultaneous increases in volume, price, and profit across various segments. Some segments with limited new capacity in the early stages are expected to gradually experience supply tightness, with processing fees supported for an increase, especially in segments with clear heavy asset attributes and improved product structures, such as copper foil and separators. In addition, sodium batteries have promising prospects for large-scale applications, with aluminum foil being a core volume-increasing segment. Coupled with rising processing fees and the increase in high-end product volume, profitability is expected to enhance.

The Guotai CSI New Energy Vehicles ETF (159806) tracks the CS New Energy Vehicle Index (399976), which focuses on the new energy vehicle industry chain, covering upstream materials, midstream components, and downstream complete vehicles. The constituent stocks mainly come from the manufacturing and service industries related to new energy vehicles, reflecting the overall performance of listed companies related to new energy vehicles, characterized by high growth and innovation.
