Yesterday, GREE CMO Zhu Lei questioned whether Hisense's "Real Copper, Genuine Material" marketing campaign had plagiarized GREE's concept, prompting immediate rebuttals from Hisense executives who accused him of being hypocritical. Today, Zhu Lei issued a new response stating: "That remark is too harsh. What is circulating online is that GREE joined the 'Air Conditioning Aluminum Reinforcement Application Research Working Group' established by the China Home Appliance Research Institute at the end of last year. This is entirely different from the 'Aluminum Replacing Copper' initiative jointly initiated and promoted by 19 companies."
