The Kestrel Coal Mine is located in the Bowen Basin of Queensland, Australia, and is a large, long-life metallurgical coal asset. YANCOAL AUS will achieve the aforementioned acquisition by acquiring 100% of Kestrel Coal Group Pty Ltd (referred to as KCG), which indirectly holds an 80% stake in the Kestrel joint venture; the maximum transaction price is set at USD 2.4 billion, and the relevant sale and purchase agreement (SPA) has been signed and is binding. As one of the largest operating underground coal mines in Australia, the Kestrel Coal Mine leads the industry in production efficiency, with its main production rate indicators ranking among the top two underground coal mines in Australia. According to data, the Kestrel Coal Mine's commodity coal production reached 5.9 million tons last year based on 100% equity; the JORC-compliant marketable reserves are 164 million tons, supporting approximately 25 years of mining activities.
