# Lombard (BARD) - Smart Accounts Whitepaper - 15 April 2026

Lombard Finance has released the Bitcoin Smart Accounts whitepaper, providing a technical specification of the protocol, architecture, and security model, as outlined in their announcement. Mechanistically, the whitepaper does not change token economics but reduces information asymmetry and clarifies how smart-account functionality is implemented on Bitcoin.
