# The Guotai CSI Semiconductor Equipment ETF (159516) surged over 1.4%, as AI hardware investments are on the rise

On April 16th, the Guotai Semiconductor Equipment ETF (159516) surged over 1.4%, as investment in AI hardware is on the rise.

Dongxing Securities pointed out that in the technology sector, investment in AI hardware is gaining momentum. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, technological self-reliance and strength are of utmost importance, and domestic semiconductors are expected to accelerate development, especially in advanced processes. Benefiting from the rise in prices of computing, storage, and panels, semiconductor capital expenditure expectations continue to heat up. At the same time, due to the increasing demand for high-end PCBs, the production capacity of electronic fabrics is becoming tighter.

The Guotai Semiconductor Equipment ETF (159516) tracks the Semiconductor Material Equipment Index (931743), which selects listed company securities involved in the semiconductor materials and equipment sector from the A-share market as index samples to reflect the overall performance of listed company securities related to the upstream semiconductor industry chain.
